Care that looks at the whole picture.

A range of evidence-informed approaches, combined thoughtfully and tailored to what will meaningfully help you.

Integrative Psychiatry

Integrative psychiatry combines the best of conventional psychiatric care with a broader understanding of the many factors that influence mental health. Rather than focusing solely on symptom management, I take a whole-person approach that considers biological, psychological, lifestyle, and environmental contributors to emotional wellbeing.

My goal is to help you move beyond simply treating symptoms by developing a thoughtful, individualized plan that supports lasting mental wellness, resilience, and overall health.

Comprehensive Assessment

During your evaluation, we’ll explore your current symptoms, medical and mental health history, lifestyle, relationships, stressors, and other factors that may be influencing your emotional wellbeing. When clinically appropriate, additional testing—such as laboratory studies—may be recommended to evaluate medical or physiological factors that could be contributing to your symptoms. This comprehensive approach helps us develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to your unique needs and ensures we do not overlook treating underlying causes of illness.

Lifestyle Medicine

Many aspects of daily life have a profound influence on mental health. Sleep, nutrition, physical activity, stress management, social connection, time in nature, light exposure and other factors can all play an important role in brain health and function. As a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I integrate evidence-based lifestyle medicine into psychiatric care whenever appropriate. Together, we’ll identify practical, sustainable changes that can complement traditional treatments and support long-term mental and physical health. Therapy

Psychotherapy offers a dedicated space to build emotional awareness and increase coping skills for navigating stress, relationships, and difficult emotions. Much of this work involves identifying unhelpful patterns of thinking that keep us stuck, and developing more flexible, effective ways of responding to life’s challenges.

Therapy can also be an important part of addressing trauma, helping process difficult experiences and reduce the hold they have on day-to-day life. Whether used on its own or alongside medication and lifestyle interventions, therapy is offered as part of a comprehensive, individualized treatment plan.

Medication Management & Deprescribing

Psychiatric medications can be an important part of treatment and, for many people, can be life-changing or even lifesaving. Like all medical treatments, they also carry potential risks and side effects. Decisions about starting, adjusting, or discontinuing medication are made collaboratively, with careful discussion of the potential benefits, risks, and available alternatives.

For individuals who wish to reduce or discontinue antidepressants or anxiety medications, I provide personalized, evidence-informed deprescribing support designed to help minimize withdrawal symptoms and promote a safe, gradual transition whenever appropriate.

Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM)

Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM) is a gentle therapy that delivers extremely low levels of electrical current—measured in microamps—to targeted tissues using specific frequency combinations. Unlike conventional electrical stimulation therapies such as TENS, FSM uses currents that are thousands of times lower and is designed to support the body’s natural healing processes.

FSM is utilized at diverse sites ranging from the Cleveland Clinic Children’s and Womack Army Medical Center to small private practices for the treatment of PTSD, anxiety, depression, ADHD and other psychological and neurological conditions.

For patients receiving in-person psychotherapy, FSM may be incorporated as an adjunctive treatment when clinically appropriate to support nervous system regulation and overall wellbeing. Longer treatment sessions are also available for individuals seeking FSM as a primary therapy for selected mental health or physical health concerns.

While research on FSM continues to evolve, many patients find it to be a comfortable and helpful addition to a comprehensive treatment plan.

Amino Acid Therapy & Targeted Supplementation

Amino acid therapy utilizes the protein building blocks of neurotransmitters to provide the brain what it needs to function optimally. Amino acids work on targets similar to medications but do not carry the same concerns about dependency or withdrawal, and have a much lower side effect profile. Amino acids such as L-tryptophan, tyrosine and phenylalanine can be utilized on their own to relieve psychiatric symptoms or in conjunction with psychiatric medications. They are also a helpful adjunct when tapering off medications.

Targeted mineral, vitamin, essential fatty acid and other supplements can be effective in addressing deficiencies, heavy metal toxicities and in providing the brain and body with the raw materials it needs to function optimally in the long-term. This practice takes an active stance against over supplementation and recommends targeted, highly effective supplements only when they have an important role to play in a personalized plan.
